Third Sunday of Lent

“This is indeed the Saviour of the world.”

Jesus made salvation available to everyone, not just Christians.

The Greek termsoteria means salvation, deliverance, preservation, and safety. Thanks to Jesus I know why I am on earth, my vocation; and that death is birth into eternal life with God. Jesus gives me hope.

The Blessed Trinity, having given me my faith – and thus hope – rooted in my conviction that God loves me, has made my life stimulating.

As you have heard me say, I see my life as journey to eternity enriched by friends, the sacraments and scripture.

So, I feel I am saved, delivered from despair, preserved in spiritual health and I feel  safe.

How about you? How much time each day do you spend relating consciously with God?

Lent is an invitation for us to increase our contact with God with our phatic words and thoughts – sharing our life experiences with Jesus Christ.

Every morning, I start each day with those TAPS; thanking God for the day; asking God to give me the energy to enable me to use my time creatively; praising God for my friends and health and saying sorry for the mistakes I am bound to make.

If you do that, you will find Easter a greater delight – and your life more fun.
