still working to help God make this World a better place
“Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ”.
In the Bible, grace means the gifts of God's unmerited, freely given favour, love, and kindness, For these I am immensely grateful.
While classifications vary, there is a common set of four types of grace in Christian theology.
There is Saving Grace (salvation), Sanctifying Grace (making holy), Sustaining/Strengthening Grace (enduring trials), and Serving Grace (empowering service).
When, aged fifteen, I was on the island of Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides, I experienced my own personal Pentecost. I was filled with love. God’s grace changed my life.
Since then, God’s presence in my life has enabled me to live a holy - though never perfect -life, God’s presence in my heart has enabled me to pass through all of the trials in my life and has empowered me to be – and live like – a priest.
Truth is the accurate perception of reality. And in Jesus’s life and teachings, his death and resurrection, I have been able to get an accurate grip on life and thus live with hope, love and optimism.
How about you? Do you try to see your SON – your self, others and nature - as God in Jesus Christ sees it?
Though I am very happy to receive all the gifts my generous friends give me, the best Christmas gifts are the grace and truth Jesus Christ brought into the world.
They enable me to live my journey to eternity with hope and thus joy. God has been – and still is – very kind to me Hence my life is a eucharist, a thanksgiving for the grace and truth Jesus Christ had brought into the world.
Happy birthday Jesus. Your birth has made me very – very - happy.
