“How is it that you have no faith?”
As you know, faith is not a verb. If you have faith you believe. I believe you are human – not Martians. It takes time to get to know somebody. It took time for the disciples of Jesus – even the Apostles – to realise who he really was. Time - and his teachings and actions - gradually unwrapped his character.
Jesus was an attractive - nowadays he would be called a charismatic – personality. Being with Him, life was never dull; constantly educational, entertaining.
Eventually, on his final journey to Jerusalem, when Jesus and his apostles came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the
prophets.” “But what about you?”he asked.“Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied,“Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.”
After his death, His resurrection demonstrated that though human he was - clearly - also divine. Through his life He revealed the quality – the character and personality of God - what God – and thus Heaven - is really like: constantly educational, entertaining.
Having spent many hours thinking about the life of Jesus, I look forward to being dead and meeting Him face to face.
How about you?
