“The bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world”
Christ’s flesh – his incarnated personality taught and still teaches us how to avoid mistakes and be able to live life to the full.
The Crucifixion, the death of Jesus, changed history.
Not only did it show the infinite quality of God's love for us and thus forgives us our sins but, thanks to the Resurrection we know - if we have the eyes of faith - that death is not the end but the start of something magnificent: birth into divine eternity.
That conviction changes the prism through which I view every day of my life.
We are never alone, isolated. God, The Risen Christ, is Emmanuel: with us wherever we are.
Isolation can be dangerous and downgrades the quality of life. After all, loneliness all too often leads to alcoholism and drugs.
Jesus, The Christ, said that ”what you do to the least of mine, you do onto me” has its corollary, “What the least of mine do unto you, I do unto you.”
The flesh of Christ, the eucharist and the life of his followers in which He is present, do enhance my life.
How about yours?
